Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Reboot the router and PC, check another device, disconnect from Wi-Fi and reconnect. If the problem is only on one PC, try network troubleshooting.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Real connection comparison
Check the websites opening and another device on that network - the status icon may not be accurate.
Steps to follow
- Open two different known websites on your computer and check if they really open.
- Turn off mobile data on your phone and connect it to the same Wi-Fi; check the same sites.
- If it works on the phone, the problem is more related to the computer. If nowhere, check your router and provider; the status icon alone does not confirm a failure.
Re-login
After saving the Wi-Fi password, disconnect and reconnect; reboot your router.
Steps to follow
- Press the Windows logo key and I together on your keyboard to open Settings.
- Select "Network and Internet".
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Select "Manage known networks".
- First, take care of your Wi-Fi password.
- Select your network and "Forget".
- Select it again in the list of networks, enter the password and check the sites. If the work network is managed, contact the administrator.
Single PC settings
If the problem is only here, compare with the access point of the phone, check the VPN and proxy.
Steps to follow
- Connect your computer to your phone's hotspot and compare how websites work.
- In Windows Settings > Network & Internet check the VPN and Proxy sections. Write down the current settings.
- If you are using your own VPN, disconnect it for the test. If the proxy is enabled without knowing the reason or the device is managed by the organization, please coordinate with the administrator first.
- After the test, restore the necessary connection; do not perform a full network reset as the first step.
If the problem persists
Check if the websites are actually opening or just showing the wrong status icon. If only this computer is not working, compare with phone hotspot and check VPN and proxy.
