Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check if other devices on the network are printing, remove the old printer entry and reconnect with the correct IP/hostname.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Single PC connection check
If others are printing, check this computer's VPN, queue, and network reachability.
Steps to follow
- On the same computer and a simple document, compare another print connection: USB, if the model supports it, or the same main network.
- If the other computers are printing and this one is not, check its queue for the jammed job and the selected device.
- Temporarily disconnect your VPN for the test; coordinate the work VPN with the administrator. Make a note of which connection works.
Creating the right record
After writing down the old address and the driver, add the printer again according to the real IP or hostname.
Steps to follow
- Read the current IP address on the printer's network information sheet or display; refer to the model manual for the menu.
- Windows Printers and Scanners note the name and driver of the old entry.
- Select Add device; if not found, manual addition based on known TCP/IP address if system offers. Enter the real address of the printer.
- Finish with the model manager and print the test. Do not change active entries or network settings for everyone.
If the problem persists
Make a note of the address and driver you are using before uninstalling. If others are printing and this computer is not, check its VPN, print queue, and network profile.
