Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
In the printer menu, connect to Wi-Fi, then Windows > Printers and scanners > Add a device; use the manufacturer's wizard if it doesn't find it automatically.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Printer Wi-Fi menu
If there is a screen or network setup menu, select your primary network and enter the password.
Steps to follow
- Open the network setup, often Wi-Fi Setup, on the model's printer screen or app.
- Select the name of your home network and enter the password; the band must be supported by the model.
- Wait for the connection, then add the device in Printers and scanners of the computer and send the test.
The official manufacturer's guide
If manual setup is not available, use the model wizard; a temporary USB can be provided for setup.
Steps to follow
- According to the model, download the network setup program from the manufacturer's official website.
- Turn on the printer and run the wizard; Connect the USB cable only if the instructions ask for it.
- Select your primary Wi-Fi and check if the wizard reports a successful connection.
- On the computer, add the device and print a test sheet.
If the problem persists
Check if the printer supports the selected Wi-Fi band and security type. Connect to the main network, not an isolated guest network; a temporary USB connection can help the official setup wizard.
