How to fix the problem
The robot can enter a place where the floor rises or the bottom of a piece of furniture lowers, and never leave. Height sensors in not all models protect against every such case. It is safest to zone too low.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Checking the clearance height
Measure the narrowest point, not just the edge of the furniture.
Steps to follow
- Stop the task and carefully release the robot without pulling on the laser turret or mop mechanism.
- Measure the lowest part of the furniture and compare to the actual height of the robot, including the turret.
- Check that the carpet or uneven floor does not raise the robot deeper under the furniture.
- If the gap is not enough, do not let the robot enter there again just for testing.
Selection of restricted area or barrier
Use the secure containment supported by the model.
Steps to follow
- If there are restricted areas of the map, cover the entire risky area of the furniture with a small margin.
- If such a feature is not available, use a stable physical barrier or restraint device permitted by the model.
- Run a short job while watching to see if the robot goes around the barrier on the other side.
- After moving the furniture, check the boundaries again; the virtual zone itself does not follow the real furniture.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If the robot has scratched the turret or jammed the hull, check the navigation before the next job. Lifting furniture is only safe according to its construction; don't use unstable homemade promotions.
