Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Try an external keyboard, check layout and Filter Keys. If the same physical buttons and BIOS do not work, then the keyboard itself or its connector is likely to be faulty.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Layout and filtering settings
Check the keyboard language, Filter Keys and buttons in Notepad.
Steps to follow
- Press the Windows logo key and I together on your keyboard to open Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select "Keyboard".
- Check "Filter Keys" and turn them off if they are turned on unnecessarily.
- Win+Space select the required language, open Notepad.
- Write problematic letters; if the same buttons still don't work, compare an external keyboard.
External keyboard comparison
If the other keyboard works, check the internal buttons or connector; turn off the device after pouring.
Steps to follow
- If the problem is after pouring, turn off the device and do not continue the tests.
- Connect a wired external keyboard directly to a suitable USB or through a compatible adapter, without an additional hub.
- Open a text editor or in the login field, safely check that the keys are entered; do not display your password publicly.
- If the external one works and the same internal buttons don't, this helps determine the problem with the keyboard. Detection of Recovery devices may vary; do not disassemble the housing.
If the problem persists
Try Notepad and an external keyboard. If the problem occurred after pouring, turn off the device and ask for an inspection; repeating the tests while on can increase the damage.
