How to recognize a scam email?

Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Check the sender's real address and domain, and see the link's destination without opening it. Sender's name or logo is not proof of authenticity. Don't rush to open attachments or enter codes; go to the service at the usual official address. If the letter purports to be from a colleague or bank, confirm the request with another contact you already know.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Confirmation of the request through another channel

Confirm the sender and the unusual request with a contact you already know, not a link in the letter.

    Steps to follow

    1. Do not click on the link in the email or call the unverified number provided in the email.
    2. Check the sender's address and domain with someone you know; display name does not prove authenticity.
    3. Ask whether the request is genuine via a phone number you already know or a regular official app. Only after approval decide on it.
  2. Actions after data has already been entered

If you have disclosed data, change your password and sessions on a secure device; For payment details, please contact your bank.

    Steps to follow

    1. If you entered a password on a fake page, open the real service from another trusted device and change it.
    2. In the Account Security section, end stranger sessions and check recovery contacts and MFA.
    3. If you have entered your card or bank information, contact the contact known to your bank. After remote access is granted, disconnect the suspect computer from the network and check.

If the problem persists

If you have already entered a password on a fake page, change it on the official service from a secure device and end your sessions. If payment details are exposed, please contact your bank.
