Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Use a different strong password for each account, password manager, 2FA and check login history.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
A strong individual password
Choose a different strong password for each account and keep it secure.
Steps to follow
- On the official account security page, choose to change your password.
- Use a strong new password that you don't use for other accounts; store in a trusted password tool.
- Check the login with the usual official address; do not send the password in a comment or message.
Additional login confirmation
Enable account-supported MFA and store recovery codes securely.
Steps to follow
- Find Two-step verification/MFA in the official account security section.
- Select the additional verification supported by the service and follow the wizard to link it.
- Keep the provided recovery codes in a safe separate place; do not show them to anyone. Check that protection is active.
Termination of unknown sessions
If there are signs of a hack, change your password from a secure device and end stranger sessions.
Steps to follow
- From a secure device, go to Security > Devices/Sessions or the service equivalent of your official account.
- View unknown logins and choose to terminate stranger sessions when the service allows.
- Change password, check recovery contacts and enable MFA. If access is lost, use the official recovery.
If the problem persists
Turn on login notifications and save recovery codes in a safe place. If there are unknown logins, change your password and end stranger sessions from a trusted device.
