Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
If the same program doesn't work in one Windows account and works in another, it's often due to profile settings or user-specific plugins. This does not mean reinstalling Windows entirely.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Creating a test account
Compare the same program under the same conditions.
Steps to follow
- In your admin account, go to Settings > Accounts > Other users and add a test user.
- Connect to it and open the same version of the app if it is installed for all users.
- Check the same secure local file or action. Use a copy of the file, not the only original.
- Note if the error remains. If not, continue checking the app settings of the old profile.
Editing program settings
Don't delete an entire user profile for a single app issue.
Steps to follow
- In the old account, disable the recently installed plugins one by one in the app menu and check the result.
- If the app has an official repair or reset method, export its data first and read what will be removed.
- In the Windows program option, select "Repair" if offered; Restore can remove local data, so only use it with a copy.
- If many applications do not work only in the old profile, prepare a new one and transfer personal files selectively.
If the problem persists
If the problem also occurs in the test account, check the application itself and the general health of the system. If only on the old profile, save your application data, logins and license information before changing it.
