How to fix the problem
Video distortions in the BIOS window occur before the Windows video driver has even started. Therefore, initial testing should include the cable, display, GPU, and memory. Rewriting the system should not be the first step.

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Checking the external video circuit
Confirm that you still see the defect in BIOS.
Steps to follow
- Take a screenshot of the BIOS window with the error without changing its settings.
- After turning off the devices, replace the cable with a known good one and connect directly.
- Compare another screen or the same screen with another source.
- If the defect remains only in one monitor, check it. If traveling with a computer, skip to hardware.
Comparison of another graphics path
Only available on a computer with a supported alternative.
Steps to follow
- Check if the processor has integrated graphics and if the card supports its video output. Not every CPU has it.
- If you know how to install safely, compare the integrated or other known suitable GPU after disconnecting the power according to the manual.
- If integrated graphics are used, check the memory in standard RAM mode; its errors can also affect the image.
- If there is no alternative or the result is unclear, send the computer for diagnostics with the results of both screen tests.
If the problem persists
If the defect remains with another screen and cable, hardware diagnostics are required. In the case of integrated graphics, system RAM is also important, GPU and its memory are separate. Do not overwrite BIOS in hopes of fixing an obscure physical video fault.
