Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
On an OLED display, the shadow of the previous window can be a temporary image persistence or long-term uneven pixel wear. Let the manufacturer go through the normal maintenance cycle first, instead of running an intensive update multiple times.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Normal maintenance cycle
Let the screen do what it's designed to do.
Steps to follow
- Make a note of the monitor model and find the OLED panel maintenance section in the manual.
- Close the static image and let the monitor go to the default standby mode; do not disconnect the power if the cycle requires it.
- Wait for the time specified by the manufacturer. Do not run a long manual "panel refresh" if the instructions do not provide for it in this case.
- After the cycle, briefly test a neutral solid background at normal brightness and assess whether the mark has decreased.
Persistence check
Collect material for panel diagnostics.
Steps to follow
- Check gray and other solid backgrounds without leaving them at maximum brightness for a long time.
- Compare another input or the monitor's own test, if provided in the instructions.
- Take a photo of the mark and write down what static image it was after and what maintenance has already been done.
- Continue to use the manufacturer's pixel protectors, automatic screen off and reasonable brightness; contact support for the remaining tag.
If the problem persists
If the mark persists after the maintenance prescribed in the instructions and is visible from different sources, ask for a panel evaluation. Warranty conditions vary by model; don't leave flashy "repair" videos running for hours.
