Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Check Print Preferences to see if Grayscale or Black & White is checked; check the level of the color cartridges.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Color program mode

Cancel Grayscale or Black & White in the specific program and printer options.

    Steps to follow

    1. Check that the model supports color printing at all.
    2. In the document's Print window, open the printer options and select Color, deselecting Grayscale/Black & White if present.
    3. Print a small color sample. If the internal color test is also bad, check the cartridges or mechanism.
  2. Color diagnostic sheet

If the model is in color, compare the internal test; if it is also colorless, check the cartridges or the mechanism.

    Steps to follow

    1. Refer to the printer model manual for printing a Test page, Print quality report, or internal diagnostic sheet.
    2. Load the correct paper and run that test from the device's own menu or its official app.
    3. If the sheet does not print or is also bad, the problem is not only in the document. If the test is good, check the computer driver and the print file; for the color test, the model must support colors.

If the problem persists

Check if the printer model itself supports color printing and print a color diagnostic sheet. If it's colored, check your program or driver settings.
