Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check the ink/toner level, the protective strips on the cartridge and the printhead nozzles. Run the test offered by the manufacturer.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Cartridge check
Check the ink or toner, security strips, and cartridge alignment according to the model.
Steps to follow
- Write down the exact printer and cartridge code, check the manual for compatibility.
- According to the model's instructions, turn off or prime the printer and open the cartridge-only cover.
- Check that the documented transport strip is removed and the cartridge is installed correctly. Do not touch the surface of the chip and the drum.
- Close, turn on and run the model test. Do not break the cartridge or try an unknown counter code.
Ink head test
If the model is inkjet, run the nozzle check and only the cleaning cycle specified by the manufacturer.
Steps to follow
- Make sure your printer is inkjet, not laser.
- In the official program or its menu, find Maintenance > Nozzle Check or the manufacturer's equivalent and print the test.
- If lines are missing according to the manual, run the specified Head Cleaning cycle and wait for the specified time.
- Repeat only as much as the guide allows; cycles use ink. If it doesn't get better, you need an inspection, not endless cleaning.
Inspection of the mechanism
If the internal diagnostic sheet is also blank, a print engine or cartridge check is required.
Steps to follow
- Run only the internal test allowed by the manufacturer and save its sheet and error text.
- Turn off according to the manual; do not touch the hot laser fuse assembly, drum, or inaccessible sensors.
- Write down the model and cartridge code, take a picture of the tapes or feed error.
- Submit information to service. Checking the internal mechanism, sensor, drum, or worn feed assembly is not a universal procedure for the home button.
If the problem persists
If the printer's own diagnostic sheet is also blank, check the cartridge and print mechanism. Repeat cleaning cycles only as often as the manufacturer recommends - they use ink.
