Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Check that a new model-specific cartridge has been inserted, the protective strips have been removed, and that it is properly seated. Some models recognize the cartridge automatically, others have a reset procedure documented by the manufacturer. Do not reset the counter just to hide the used toner; if the message remains, check the exact cartridge code and instructions.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Cartridge compatibility and law

Check the exact code of the new cartridge, the stripes and the correct law.

    Steps to follow

    1. Write down the exact printer and cartridge code, check the manual for compatibility.
    2. According to the model's instructions, turn off or prime the printer and open the cartridge-only cover.
    3. Check that the documented transport strip is removed and the cartridge is installed correctly. Do not touch the surface of the chip and the drum.
    4. Close, turn on and run the model test. Do not break the cartridge or try an unknown counter code.
  2. Counter reset for the model

Only follow the procedure specified by the manufacturer after the actual cartridge replacement if the model requires it.

    Steps to follow

    1. Check that a genuine new cartridge for the specific model is installed.
    2. Check your model's official manual for a user-specific toner counter procedure after replacement.
    3. If there is, just do it and check the message. If not, do not apply the online code for another model - check the cartridge identification with the supplier.

If the problem persists

Only use the model-specific documented counter reset when a new cartridge is actually installed. If the cartridge is not recognized, check the exact code and supplier; do not hack or reprogram the chip.
