Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
For an inkjet printer, use nozzle check and head cleaning according to the manufacturer; for laser, check toner and drum.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Paper and mode selection
Match paper type and print mode, compare internal test.
Steps to follow
- In the app, go to File > Print and select your printer.
- In its options or Preferences, set the type of paper used; for simple text, choose normal, not the highest photo quality.
- Load the paper specified in the manual and print one sheet. Compare speed and quality without changing all parameters at once.
Cleaning the ink jets
For the inkjet model, use its nozzle check and permissible head cleaning.
Steps to follow
- Make sure your printer is inkjet, not laser.
- In the official program or its menu, find Maintenance > Nozzle Check or the manufacturer's equivalent and print the test.
- If lines are missing according to the manual, run the specified Head Cleaning cycle and wait for the specified time.
- Repeat only as much as the guide allows; cycles use ink. If it doesn't get better, you need an inspection, not endless cleaning.
Laser toner and drum check
For laser, check the cartridge and drum according to the manual; do not touch the surface or use solvents.
Steps to follow
- Run only the internal test allowed by the manufacturer and save its sheet and error text.
- Turn off according to the manual; do not touch the hot laser fuse assembly, drum, or inaccessible sensors.
- Write down the model and cartridge code, take a picture of the tapes or feed error.
- Submit information to service. Checking the internal mechanism, sensor, drum, or worn feed assembly is not a universal procedure for the home button.
If the problem persists
Compare the manufacturer's diagnostic sheet with the document printout and use the correct paper. Do not touch the surface of the drum or clean it with solvents; permanent bands may require maintenance.
