Roomba i7 reports Error 30 even after filter cleaning

Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Series i Error 30 is associated with insufficient air flow. A cleaned filter may still be worn, clogged with fine dirt or not suitable for the model. The next step is a suitable new filter and checking the remaining available air path.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Testing the new filter and air path

Do not use the robot without a filter.

    Steps to follow

    1. Turn off the i7, empty the box and remove any accessible plugs.
    2. Check the filter code and replace with a new suitable dry filter if the old one is leaky or wet.
    3. Install the filter and the box correctly, check that the lid closes.
    4. Run a short run on a free hard floor and note if Error 30 returns immediately.
  2. Official reboot and node diagnostics

Do not overwrite the system from an unofficial file.

    Steps to follow

    1. Check the official i-series Error 30 page for proper i7 boot sequence.
    2. Do it and wait for the device to fully boot into the system.
    3. Repeat the same test with a new filter; do not repeat many long loads with error.
    4. If the result does not change, request a diagnosis of the cleaning unit, providing the filter and test information.

Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.

If the problem persists

If a suitable new filter and normal reloading do not help, the manufacturer provides for inspection or replacement of the cleaning unit. An error number alone does not confirm a specific fault; show what has already been tested.
