Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Series i Error 26 is associated with insufficient air flow. Start with the dust box and filter, not the map wipe. If the error persists with a suitable new filter, cleaning assembly diagnostics may be required.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Inspection of dry filter and box
Do not wash the i7 filter if its instructions do not allow it.
Steps to follow
- Stop and switch off the robot, remove and empty the dust box.
- Remove the filter and clean it in an acceptable dry way; replace a wet or worn one with a suitable new one.
- Check for accessible air holes and correct filter and box assembly.
- Run a short task on a hard floor and see if Error 26 returns.
Official reboot and further diagnostics
Rebooting is not a factory data wipe.
Steps to follow
- Please refer to the iRobot i series Error 26 manual for the correct boot sequence for the i7 specifically.
- Perform a normal reboot and wait for the bot to finish booting.
- Repeat the same short task with a suitable dry filter.
- If the error persists, submit the test results and refer the filter replacement to the manufacturer's support.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If a new suitable filter and a normal restart of the model do not help, ask for an inspection of the cleaning unit. Confirm the need for replacement parts based on the condition of your i7, not just another user's forum result.
Request a repairBefore you begin: Before maintenance, stop and switch off the robot and unplug the dock. Do not touch moving parts during operation. If liquid reaches electrical components or the battery is damaged, do not power the device on again until it has been inspected.
