Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Saved maps and room selection depend on the i3 variant, its software and app support. A floor plan shown in cleaning history after one run is not necessarily a saved, editable Smart Map.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Model and map type checking
Separate history report from Smart Map.
Steps to follow
- Write down the exact i3 / i3+ or other variant and the firmware version of the robot.
- Check iRobot's official info for Smart Map and room control support for that variant.
- In the app, see if the plan is open in map management or only in the cleaning history.
- If creating a new plan, allow the model to complete the intended mapping process without moving the robot during work.
Updating and checking the completed plan
Do not search for another model in the menu in your account.
Steps to follow
- Install the official updates offered for the app and bot.
- If supported, open a saved plan and review the steps for editing and naming rooms.
- Run a single room test only after saving it correctly.
- If the menu is still missing, please provide a screenshot for support. Creating a different region account is not a reliable fix for the model feature.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If a particular feature is not available for a model, factory reset will not add it. If the model supports the feature but is not available in the finished map menu, please provide the model code and application version for support.
