How to fix the problem
A laser robot can interpret a floor-length mirror as an extension of space. Therefore, a fictional room or a stretched wall appears on the map. Check the reflection before deleting the entire map that worked well.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Checking the effect of reflection
Change only the environment at the bottom of the mirror.
Steps to follow
- Mark on the map whether the fake room starts exactly at the mirror or at the shiny surface.
- Securely and stably cover the lower reflective section with an opaque barrier without blocking evacuation or passage.
- Run a quick scan of that location from the stop and compare the route.
- If the distortion disappears, leave the correct physical solution, or limit the dummy space in the app if the model allows.
Fixing the map after removing the cause
Do not remodel the entire home at once.
Steps to follow
- In the map management menu, check the previous correct version and restore it.
- If allowed, correct the room boundary or set a no-go zone at the wrong space.
- Start the robot from the same stop location and let it return by itself.
- If you need a new map, fix the reflection problem before creating and save important zone settings.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If the distortions are not related to the mirror and occur in different places, check the navigation sensor and the position of the stop. Do not make a change to a larger part of the map until the previous backup version has been checked.
