Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Multi-floor operation varies by model. Some robots identify the floor automatically; others require you to select a saved map. Check how many maps your model supports and note which floor the robot is on and where its dock remains.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Choosing the right floor
Start after stopping the previous task.
Steps to follow
- Finish the work on the first floor and only then move the robot according to the model's instructions.
- Select the required floor in the map management or enable the default auto-recognition.
- Place the robot in a recognizable free space, away from an open staircase.
- Start a small quest and verify that its location on the map is correct before launching the entire area.
Preparation of the base and new floor
Not all models have the same transfer sequence.
Steps to follow
- Check the guide to see if you need to move the base when mapping the next floor.
- If you are creating a new map, select Add rather than Delete an existing map.
- Assign clear names to floors and identify areas for stairs and other hazards on each floor.
- When finished, return the robot and base to a permanent location; do not move a working robot during map inspection.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If your model does not support multiple saved maps, a generic app setting cannot add that feature. If it does support them but still selects the wrong map, send the floor plans and your starting procedure to the manufacturer.
