Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
The Combo j7 wash lever should only work in a properly prepared wash task. First, check that it is really a Combo and not just a suction j7, and that the washing accessories are required.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Combo task and accessory check
The name j7 alone is not enough.
Steps to follow
- Confirm by the sticker or app that you have a Roomba Combo j7 / j7+ with wash function.
- Check the correct wash pad and tank preparation according to the instructions for this model.
- In the app, select a vacuuming and mopping task in the hard floor area, not just vacuuming.
- Observe one start at a safe distance without touching the moving lever.
External barrier and program verification
Do not disassemble the drive.
Steps to follow
- Stop and turn off the robot before inspecting the accessible exterior of the lever.
- Only remove visible thread or wrongly folded fabric according to the pattern care instructions.
- Just perform a normal reboot and check for official updates offered for this model.
- If the problem persists, please provide the exact kit and record to iRobot Support, as adding water alone will not clear the mechanical jam.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If the lever snaps, moves crooked, or does not return to position, stop testing. Its mechanism needs to be checked; do not bend or push the lever into the working position with your hands.
Request a repairBefore you begin: Before maintenance, stop and switch off the robot and unplug the dock. Do not touch moving parts during operation. If liquid reaches electrical components or the battery is damaged, do not power the device on again until it has been inspected.
