The robot vacuum wets the carpet with its mop pads

Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Carpet detection and mop lifting do not always protect high or tufted carpet. Also, the wrong carpet mode or its outdated location on the map may be selected. Stop the mopping task first.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Carpet protection options

Choose a safer behavior until the reason is clear.

    Steps to follow

    1. Stop work and dry the carpet as per its care instructions.
    2. In the app, select carpet avoidance during washing or add a no-wash zone if the functions are supported.
    3. Check that the area covers the entire carpet and its tufts, not just the middle section.
    4. Supervise the next mopping run and stop it if the pads touch the carpet again.
  2. Elevation and map verification

Distinguish an undetected carpet from an overgrown hair.

    Steps to follow

    1. Check that the carpet is marked in the correct location on the map after moving it.
    2. If the robot is lifting the mops, watch if it still touches the carpet when lifted; do not touch the moving assembly.
    3. Check the cleanliness of the carpet sensor and the exact supported lift height according to the manual.
    4. If the lift is too high, leave a safe dodge. If low but undetectable, call for sensor diagnostics.

Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.

If the problem persists

If the fabric is still touching the carpet after lifting, it may be a height restriction. Use carpet avoidance or separate vacuuming without mops when model allows. Do not tape the fall or rise sensors.
