Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
When charging occurs only when the robot is moved, check the mechanical fit, contacts and position of the stop. This is different from delayed charging in the app: physical movement should not be a daily requirement for charging.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Elimination of uneven fit
Remove obstacles under the robot and station.
Steps to follow
- After turning the robot off, check the wheels, front wheel, and bottom for tangled hair and stuck objects.
- Make sure the wash tray and access ramp are installed without raised edges.
- Move the base to a stable, flat surface if it wobbles on carpet or a seam.
- Start auto-return and monitor charging without moving the robot.
Comparison of contacts and charging
Check if the fault is repeated.
Steps to follow
- After disconnecting power, clean open contacts only in a manner permitted by the manufacturer.
- Inspect the contacts for pitting, warping and blackening; do not bend them yourself.
- Check the start of charging once and record if it stops without the robot moving.
- If charging disappears, send the robot and the base together for diagnostics. Just changing the battery out of guesswork may not help.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If you have to hold the robot down, don't leave it that way. Inspection of contacts, base geometry and wheels is required; a damaged or hot contact must be repaired.
Request a repairBefore you begin: Before maintenance, stop and switch off the robot and unplug the dock. Do not touch moving parts during operation. If liquid reaches electrical components or the battery is damaged, do not power the device on again until it has been inspected.
