Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Check the audio output device on the clock, sound in the application and Windows > System > Sound. If necessary, update the manufacturer's sound driver.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Audio output and volume

In Windows Sound settings, select the correct output and check the volume mixer.

    Steps to follow

    1. Press the Windows logo key and I together on your keyboard to open Settings.
    2. Select "System".
    3. Select "Sound".
    4. In the Output section, select the desired speakers or headphones.
    5. Open the volume mixer and check the overall volume and the mute of the application you are using.
    6. Play a known recording and check. If the headphones are not listed, check their connection first.
  2. Program and headset test

If it doesn't work in only one app, check its sound; headphones, compare the internal speakers.

    Steps to follow

    1. Play another known audio file or program.
    2. Plug in a working headset and select it in the Windows Audio output.
    3. If the sound is present in another application, correct the settings of the first application. If only in headphones, check the output or hardware of the internal speakers.
  3. Manufacturer sound driver

If it doesn't work in all applications and the device is not detected properly, use the model-specific driver.

    Steps to follow

    1. Note down the exact computer model from the sticker or Settings > System > About.
    2. Open the official support page of the computer manufacturer, enter the model and select the version of Windows installed.
    3. Download the following package: Graphics, Sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB/Chip or Special Keys. Don't use generic "all drivers" sites.
    4. Run the downloaded installation file, run the manufacturer's wizard and reboot if prompted.
    5. Try the function that didn't work again. If there is no network, download the package on another device and transfer to USB.

If the problem persists

Try headphones and another app, check out the volume mixer. If there is no sound in only one program, fix its output setting instead of reinstalling all the drivers at once.
