How to fix the problem
Open Activity Monitor > CPU/Memory, sort by load. Check the purpose of the process before stopping.
If the problem persists
Watch for a few minutes and compare with the app you just opened. High Memory Pressure can be more important than the number of gigabytes occupied; do not stop system processes randomly.
