Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
The dToF error is related to the navigation system, but the message alone does not confirm that the laser motor needs to be replaced. First, check the outer box, the obstacles at the top, and the repetition of the error in the free space.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Removing visible obstacles to navigation
Clean only the exterior as specified in the manual.
Steps to follow
- Stop and turn off the robot and check that the upper part is not pressed by furniture or objects.
- Wipe the outer navigation box with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check for shipping film, added protection, or visible damage to the case.
- Park in a free space and check out one launch from the base.
Normal reboot and information for service
Deleting the map does not remove the physical fault of the scanner.
Steps to follow
- Write down the full model and the text of the dToF error, along with the time it occurred.
- Just perform a normal reboot as per the model manual without deleting the account.
- Check if the error is repeated immediately in another safe free space.
- If so, report these results to the manufacturer or service; do not force the assembly or start it with external power.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If the error remains after external maintenance and a normal reboot, a check of the navigation unit is required. Do not disassemble the N8+ case according to the video of another DEEBOT series.
Request a repairBefore you begin: Before maintenance, stop and switch off the robot and unplug the dock. Do not touch moving parts during operation. If liquid reaches electrical components or the battery is damaged, do not power the device on again until it has been inspected.
