Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
The wireless keyboard receiver may experience interference near USB 3 devices and cables. However, letters are also missed due to a weak battery or too long a distance. Compare the layout before replacing the keyboard itself.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Changing the location of the receiver
Suitable for a keyboard with a separate USB radio.
Steps to follow
- Check the battery or charge the keyboard according to the instructions.
- Remove the receiver from the external SSD, USB 3 hub and their cables; use a short suitable USB extension cable if necessary.
- Place the receiver closer to the keyboard, away from the metal casing or the monitor.
- Repeat the same short text typing test and compare the missing letters.
Checking the influence of USB accessories
Determine which add-on changes performance.
Steps to follow
- Safely disconnect external drives and other unnecessary USB accessories.
- Leave the keyboard receiver and try typing again.
- Return the accessories one at a time, keeping their cables away from the receiver.
- If the problem is not related to accessories, try another computer and the manufacturer's official pairing or update method.
If the problem persists
If letters are skipped and close to the receiver, without other USB accessories and with a good battery, test the keyboard on another computer. If you have a Bluetooth model without a USB receiver, the USB receiver migration steps do not apply to it.
