Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

A new high-pitched whistling sound may be caused by a narrowing of the airflow path or incorrect filter placement. If the sound resembles a mechanical scraping, check the brushes separately. Do not use the robot without a filter even for a short test.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Filter and box inspection

Check the airflow path in accessible areas.

    Steps to follow

    1. Stop and turn off the robot, remove the dust box and filter according to the manual.
    2. Remove debris from the box and the accessible intake port without inserting objects deep into the motor.
    3. Clean the filter only in the manner permitted for it. If it is washable, only return it completely dry.
    4. Insert the filter and box correctly and repeat the short test in the same mode.
  2. Comparison of power and details

Check whether the sound changes with suction power.

    Steps to follow

    1. Record whether the whistling disappears when the suction power is reduced and whether it is heard when the robot is stationary.
    2. Inspect the filter frame, lid and box gaskets for warped or missing parts.
    3. If you have another new suitable filter, replace and compare without removing the filter from the circuit.
    4. If the sound does not change or increases rapidly, take a video and send it to diagnostics.

Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.

If the problem persists

If the sound remains with a clean, proper filter and an unobstructed airflow path, a suction motor or leak diagnosis is required. In case of burning smell, turn off immediately.

Request a repair

Before you begin: Before maintenance, stop and switch off the robot and unplug the dock. Do not touch moving parts during operation. If liquid reaches electrical components or the battery is damaged, do not power the device on again until it has been inspected.
