Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
After replacing the cooler, the increased temperature is often related to the installation contact, the wrong holder or the fan not connected. First, check the assembly, especially if the temperature rises even without opening the programs.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Connection and compatibility check
Start by not breaking anything around the CPU socket.
Steps to follow
- Turn off the computer and disconnect the power. Compare the cooler model with the CPU socket type.
- Check that the mounting kit and all its parts are used specifically for that socket.
- Check the CPU fan or AIO pump power according to the instructions.
- If the connections are OK but the temperature is abnormally high, the next step is to check the contact, not higher fan speeds at all costs.
Coolant contact check
Perform only with proper tools and installation instructions.
Steps to follow
- After disconnecting the power, remove the cooler according to the instructions. If you do not have experience, entrust this action to the service.
- Check that the protective film has been removed from the base of the new block and that the thermal paste has covered the contact area.
- Clean and reapply the paste according to its and the cooler's instructions; do not layer old and new paste.
- Fasten in the specified order without over-tightening. Check temperature BIOS before load and at rest.
If the problem persists
If the CPU still reaches the limit quickly after the check, do not repeat the load tests. In the service, it will be necessary to check the compression of the block, the brackets and the operation of the cooling. Do not forcibly change the processor socket or brackets.
