Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Try Fn with touchpad symbol, Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad, Device Manager. In some BIOS touchpad can be disabled.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Turning on the mat

Use a combination of pattern Fn and the Windows Touchpad option.

    Steps to follow

    1. Press the Windows logo key and I together on your keyboard to open Settings.
    2. Select Bluetooth and devices.
    3. Select "Touchpad".
    4. Turn on the touchpad if the switch is off.
    5. After expanding the options, check "Leave touchpad on when mouse is connected" if it appears.
    6. If the switch is not there, try the Fn combination to turn it on, according to the model keyboard symbol and manual. Check the cursor movement.
  2. Setting up to work with an external mouse

If it turns off when the mouse is connected, see the option to leave the pad on.

  3. Driver or physical health check

If not detected, check the manufacturer's driver; when the case or mat rises, stop pressing and ask for a battery.

    Steps to follow

    1. If the mat or case is raised, turn it off and do not charge again - do not press it with force.
    2. If there is no deformation, right-click Start > Device Manager and see if the touchpad is detected without error.
    3. On the official website of the computer manufacturer, find the package of the mat or chip according to the model and install it according to its wizard.
    4. Reload and compare; if not detected or still not working, take the model and results to a technician.

If the problem persists

If the touchpad stops working only when a mouse is connected, check the option that disables it when a mouse is present. If the case or touchpad has lifted, stop pressing it: the battery may be swollen.
