Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check if the adapter supports 5 GHz, if the router has enabled this band and if the channel is supported by your device.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Enable support band
If the adapter supports 5 GHz, check its broadcast and the supported channel of the router.
Steps to follow
- Open the Wi-Fi list on your watch and approach your router.
- If your bands have separate names, try a supported 2.4 or 5 GHz network with your own password.
- Compare the same list on your phone or other device. If one does not see 5/6 GHz, check its adapter support by model.
- If the band names are generic or there is no choice, don't rename them randomly - check your router's manual.
Compatible adapter driver
If the hardware supports the tape but does not see it, install the manufacturer's driver; it won't be enough for unsupported hardware.
Steps to follow
- Note down the exact computer model from the sticker or Settings > System > About.
- Open the official support page of the computer manufacturer, enter the model and select the version of Windows installed.
- Download the following package: Graphics, Sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB/Chip or Special Keys. Don't use generic "all drivers" sites.
- Run the downloaded installation file, run the manufacturer's wizard and reboot if prompted.
- Try the function that didn't work again. If there is no network, download the package on another device and transfer to USB.
If the problem persists
Check the exact adapter model and install the manufacturer's driver. If it doesn't support 5GHz, the software setting won't create this option; 6GHz still needs separate support.
