Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Sharing a bot is often done within the owner's account, rather than re-linking the same bot to another account. Features and rights vary by app and region. You do not need to share your account password.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Official sharing feature check
Invite another account as intended.
Steps to follow
- In the owner app, open the device sharing or home members menu, if supported.
- Check that the other person is using the same required app and compatible region.
- Send the invitation in an official way and ask to accept it in your account.
- Check the permissions granted and the visibility of the robot without trying to associate it as a new device.
Invitation and account mismatch check
The name on the phone is not necessarily an actual account identifier.
Steps to follow
- Verify the invited account against the identifier required by the app without making it public in the comment.
- Check that the invitation hasn't expired and that the person isn't signed in with another account.
- Update the official app on both phones and repeat one invite.
- If it fails, please provide support with the model and error screen without passwords and other private data.
Features, menus and error codes depend on the exact robot and dock model and software version. Instructions for another series may not apply.
If the problem persists
If sharing is not supported for a specific model, check with the manufacturer's support. Don't Bypass Previous Owner Linking: A used bot must be legally unlinked by the account owner or manufacturer support.
