Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

System Settings > Sound > Input; select a microphone, adjust the level and check Privacy & Security > Microphone permissions.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Systematic microphone selection

Select the microphone in Sound > Input and watch the level indicator.

    Steps to follow

    1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left and select System Settings.
    2. Select Sound.
    3. Select Input.
    4. Choose the right microphone and speak while monitoring the Input level.
    5. If the indicator does not move, check the physical mouth and connector; if it moves, the system input is working.
  2. App access and mute

If the system test works, check the app's permission, its input, and the physical microphone switch.

    Steps to follow

    1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left and select System Settings.
    2. Select Privacy & Security.
    3. Select Microphone.
    4. Allow the microphone only for the application you are using; close and open it as needed.
    5. Select that microphone in the Audio/Input list and run the audio test.
    6. If there is no display and Sound > Input, please fix the system connection first.

If the problem persists

Monitor the input level indicator and compare with the program test. If the system indicator is moving, check the program's microphone selection; some microphones have a physical mute.
