Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
System Settings > Displays > select displays and Mirror if available; AirPlay is used for wireless sharing on compatible devices.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Wired Screen Duplication
For Displays, select Mirror for the appropriate connected displays.
Steps to follow
- Click on the Apple icon in the top left and select System Settings.
- Select "Displays".
- Connect and turn on a compatible external display.
- Select an external display and the Use as/Mirror option if provided.
- Check that you see the same image on both; advanced mode shows different jobs.
AirPlay Screen Sharing
If your devices support it, use AirPlay and check your network and TV permissions.
Steps to follow
- Check that the TV supports AirPlay and that your devices are accessible in the same network context.
- From the Mac menu bar, open Control Center > Screen Mirroring.
- Select your TV and enter the on-screen confirmation if prompted.
- If the TV is not visible, check its AirPlay setting and network isolation; do not select a foreign device.
If the problem persists
Check if you are using Duplicate or Extend mode and check the target screen. Check network availability and TV permissions for AirPlay connection.
