Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check your Internet, Outbox, SMTP settings, account login, and check that the email does not have an attachment that is too large.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
A simple letter via webmail
Try a letter without an attachment; this separates the program error from the mail service.
Steps to follow
- In a browser, open your mail service at the usual official address and log in.
- Send yourself a short test email without an attachment.
- Check your inbox and Sent folder. If webmail is working, check your mail program; if not, log the service error.
Application and add-on settings
If webmail is working, check Outbox, authentication and allowed attachment size.
Steps to follow
- In your mail program, open Outbox/Sending and see which mail is stuck.
- With a copy of the letter, remove the large attachment and try a small test letter.
- If it still fails, check your account settings with your provider's official SMTP/authentication manual. Do not try random servers or password modes.
If the problem persists
Try sending a simple email without an attachment via webmail. If it works there, check the app account and authentication; if webmail also does not work, contact the mail provider with the error text.
