Battery drains very quickly

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

1. Reducing energy costs

   Lower the brightness and check background apps and battery status.

   Steps to follow

   1. Press the Windows logo key and I together on your keyboard to open Settings.
   2. Select "System".
   3. Select "Power & Battery".
   4. View battery usage by apps and enable suggested power saving mode if needed.
   5. Reduce screen brightness and close non-essential power-consuming applications.
   6. Compare the running time with the same common task; do not intentionally discharge the battery to the point of shutdown.

2. Battery health assessment

   Compare batteryreport capacity and real time; sudden shutdowns or deformation require technical inspection.

   Steps to follow

   1. Click on Start and type "cmd" in the search.
   2. Open the Command Prompt program you found.
   3. Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
   4. The command will display the path of the HTML report; open that file in your browser.
   5. Compare Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity and real time.
   6. Make a note of a large difference in capacity or sudden shutdowns and submit it to the master; changing the reading alone does not fix the battery.
