Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Drivers are usually examined, especially if the code appeared after installation. Use safe mode to roll back the driver.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Returning the named driver

If the STOP screen mentions a .sys file and there was an update, check the related driver.

    Steps to follow

    1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager. If Windows won't start, first go to safe mode according to the related topic.
    2. Expand the related device group: Display adapters for video error, Network adapters for network error. Do not modify the device without knowing it.
    3. Right-click the device, select Properties, then the Manager tab.
    4. Click "Return Driver". If the button is gray, there is no previous version - skip this method.
    5. Complete the wizard, save your work and reload. Repeat the action that caused the problem; do not change other drivers at the same time.
  2. Safe Mode comparison

If it doesn't start normally, try restoring the driver in safe mode; Do not rub the .sys manually.

    Steps to follow

    1. In the available login window, hold Shift and click Power > Restart; if it doesn't boot, open the Windows recovery USB option to Repair your computer.
    2. Get a recovery key for the encrypted drive and a copy of the files. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup settings > Restart.
    3. Select 4 or F4 safe mode if provided. You may need your account password instead of a PIN to sign in.
    4. Compare performance; if stable, check for a recently updated driver. Usually, rebooting will return you to normal mode.

If the problem persists

If a .sys file is specified, write it down and return the associated device driver. Do not delete system .sys files manually; Recurring error requires dump analysis.
