Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check the paper (moisture, static, format), clean the feed rollers according to the instructions and do not overfill the tray.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Paper replacement
Load a small amount of dry, smooth, uniform size paper and set the guides correctly.
Steps to follow
- Remove the paper from the tray and replace any sheets that are damp, folded, or of a different size.
- Place a small stack of uniform dry paper within the tray mark.
- Close the guides without folding the pages and print multiple pages. If it still takes a few, the feed mechanism needs to be checked.
Feed mechanism maintenance
Check the user-accessible rollers according to the manual; if the separation mechanism is worn, repair is required.
Steps to follow
- Run only the internal test allowed by the manufacturer and save its sheet and error text.
- Turn off according to the manual; do not touch the hot laser fuse assembly, drum, or inaccessible sensors.
- Write down the model and cartridge code, take a picture of the tapes or feed error.
- Submit information to service. Checking the internal mechanism, sensor, drum, or worn feed assembly is not a universal procedure for the home button.
If the problem persists
Load a small amount of dry, smooth and uniform paper, adjust the guides. If it still takes multiple sheets, the separation mechanism may be worn out and the settings won't fix it.
