Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
A case that opens at the hinge may indicate broken fasteners or a hinge that is too stiff. Continuing to open the cover may damage the screen, antennas, and video cable. Hold the lid steady and do not force it.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Suspension of Additional Breach
Do not try to close the case by force.
Steps to follow
- Save your work only if the computer is stable and safe, then turn off and disconnect the charger.
- Leave the lid in a stable position where there is no pressure on the broken corner.
- Do not insert glue, metal parts or longer screws into the gap. They can damage the screen and cables.
- Shoot the exposed corner outside without widening the gap any further.
Transportation and repair plan
Check the entire hinge load circuit.
Steps to follow
- Agree with the service how to safely transfer the device in the current position of the cover; do not close it by force before transport.
- Indicate whether the failure occurred after an impact, whether the body split gradually, and whether the hinge was previously very stiff.
- Ask to evaluate the lid and base mounts, hinge resistance, and adjacent cables.
- After the repair, check the smooth movement of the cover, screen, camera and Wi-Fi. If any function disappears when changing the angle, the repair is not yet complete.
If the problem persists
When repairing, it is necessary to check both the body fasteners and the hinge itself. External bonding alone does not solve excessive mechanical force. If the cable is visible or the screen flickers when you move the cover, do not bend it again.
