Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Ctrl+Shift+Esc > Processes > Network or Win+R > resmon > Network.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Task Manager Network

Compare the network load in the process list and temporarily pause known downloads.

    Steps to follow

    1. Press Ctrl, Shift and Esc together to open the Task Manager.
    2. If you only see a short list of apps, click More info if available.
    3. In the list of processes, click "Network" so that the most active ones are at the top.
    4. Pause a known download or sync in its own app.
    5. Repeat the connection test and compare; do not terminate unknown system processes.
  2. Resource monitor

Use Win+R > resmon > Network for a more detailed view of processes and connectivity.

    Steps to follow

    1. Press Windows and R, type resmon and Enter.
    2. Select the Network tab.
    3. In the Processes with network activity list, compare receiving and sending. Pause a known program on it, not the entire system network.

If the problem persists

If you don't see activity in the Network column, expand Task Manager and use resmon. Temporarily pause known downloads or syncs to check their impact.
