Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Control+Command+Q locks the screen. Adjust automatic locking in System Settings > Lock Screen.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Quick lock

    Control+Command+Q locks the screen immediately.

    Steps to follow

    1. Save your work if necessary.
    2. Press Control, Command and Q together.
    3. Check that the lock appeared; use your login to return without showing it to anyone.
  2. Auto lock setting

Lock Screen choose time and password requirement after sleep or wallpaper.

    Steps to follow

    1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left and select System Settings.
    2. Select Lock Screen.
    3. Choose the right time for the screen and shutter.
    4. Check password requirement after sleep or screen saver.
    5. Lock or wait for the scheduled time and check if it asks for login to come back.

If the problem persists

Check Lock Screen option to require password after sleep or screen saver. A screen lock is not a substitute for logging out of a public computer account.
