How to fix the problem
In Windows 11, go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates; Windows 10 - Settings > Update & security > Windows Update. Plug in a stable power supply and back up your files before a major upgrade. Support for regular Windows 10 Home/Pro 22H2 ended on 10/14/2025; further security patches depend on the applicable ESU program, and LTSC releases have different timelines.
If the problem persists
Write down the update error code, check free disk space, and restart your computer. If you are using Windows 10, check the system support and ESU status; lack of updates is not always a fault.
