Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Verify that the domain is correct and refresh your browser. Compare the same website on a different device and network. This error is usually associated with an incompatible TLS configuration or secure connection interception, so changing the clock alone will not necessarily resolve it. If the site is running elsewhere, check with your administrator for a managed proxy or security program.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Updated browser

Check the address and compare with another new browser; do not enable outdated TLS protocols.

    Steps to follow

    1. In Chrome or Edge, open Help > About browser and wait for the official update. Safari is updated with macOS.
    2. Restart your browser and check the website address.
    3. Compare with the same site in another new browser; if the error remains, check the network or site TLS, do not bypass security.
  2. Interception check

If the site is running on a different network, check the configuration of the proxy or managed security program with the administrator.

    Steps to follow

    1. Make a note of whether you are using a VPN, your organization's proxy, or your own DNS.
    2. Windows Network and Internet see VPN and Proxy; Mac - Details of the network in use and the installed VPN application.
    3. Temporarily disconnect your VPN and compare. Do not change your organization's proxy, DNS, or security application options without an administrator.
    4. Provide the administrator with the domain, the error and the fact whether it is working through another network; do not disable all firewalls.
  3. Fixing server TLS

If an error occurs on one site on different devices, contact the site owner; the visitor will not fix the server.

    Steps to follow

    1. Write down the exact website address and error text without entering login or payment details.
    2. Compare with a new browser on another device or network.
    3. If the error is the same for this site only, please pass the information on to the owner of the site through a contact you know.
    4. Do not bypass TLS or certificate warning or enable outdated protocols; fixing the server is not setting up the visitor.

If the problem persists

If another new browser shows the same TLS error on only one site, notify its administrator. Don't enable legacy TLS protocols or bypass secure connection checks.
