Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Two separate sets of RAM can be unstable together even if they have the same brand, capacity and frequency. Internal chips and controller load may vary. A single kit profile is not a guarantee for two kits together.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
One set baseline test
Check stability with the kit provided by the manufacturer.
Steps to follow
- Take a picture of the labels of all the modules and mark which ones were in one package.
- BIOS turn off EXPO / XMP and turn off and disconnect the power.
- Leave only one set in the slots indicated in the manual and perform the memory test.
- Also check the second set separately. If one is wrong on its own, solve his problem first.
General configuration in standard mode
Check that all module quantities are supported.
Steps to follow
- Check the supported total capacity and number of modules in the board and processor specifications.
- Assemble all modules only with power off and leave standard frequency, no additional profiles.
- Allow the training to finish and repeat the memory test; just booting to the desktop is not enough.
- If the errors remain only with both sets, go back to the stable variant or choose one set of the correct capacity.
If the problem persists
If the combination is still unstable in standard mode, use one proven matched set. When increasing the capacity, it is worth choosing a set of larger modules supported by the board. Boosting voltages is not a necessary initial method of matching different sets.
