Troubleshooting guide

How to fix the problem

Check if the address is written correctly or if the website works on another device; flush the DNS cache with the ipconfig /flushdns command. If necessary, check your DNS provider settings.

Possible solutions

Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.

  1. Address and domain verification

Check the spelling and whether the same domain is running through a different network.

    Steps to follow

    1. Type the address in the browser bar by hand and check the exact domain.
    2. Open another known website, then the front page on your other device.
    3. Compare the front page over your other network, such as mobile internet.
    4. If only one page fails in all tests, the problem may be on its side; if everyone is only on this computer, check its network.
  2. Clearing the Windows DNS cache

If outdated local entries are suspected, run ipconfig /flushdns and check again.

    Steps to follow

    1. Click on Start and type "cmd" in the search.
    2. Select "Run as administrator" and confirm if prompted.
    3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
    4. Wait for the cache cleanup success message.
    5. Close and open the browser, check the same address. This is a Windows command; it does not fix a broken connection or wrong domain.
  3. DNS, VPN and proxy settings

If many websites are not working on this device only, check these settings by keeping the previous values.

    Steps to follow

    1. Make a note of whether you are using a VPN, your organization's proxy, or your own DNS.
    2. Windows Network and Internet see VPN and Proxy; Mac - Details of the network in use and the installed VPN application.
    3. Temporarily disconnect your VPN and compare. Do not change your organization's proxy, DNS, or security application options without an administrator.
    4. Provide the administrator with the domain, the error and the fact whether it is working through another network; do not disable all firewalls.

If the problem persists

If one domain doesn't work on another network as well, the problem may be in its DNS records. If many websites are not working on this computer only, check the VPN, proxy and selected DNS; save the previous settings.
