Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Windows cannot access the required boot device/entry; check disk visibility BIOS and boot configuration.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Disconnecting unrelated media
Unmount USB drives that are not needed for boot and select the correct boot entry.
Steps to follow
- Save the documents and shut down the computer normally.
- Disconnect unnecessary USB drives, hubs, docks and other recently connected accessories. Leave the power supply, display and necessary keyboard.
- Turn it on and repeat the action that caused the failure.
- If it works now, turn it off and plug in the accessories one by one and try each one. This will determine which device the problem is returning with.
Windows startup repair
If the SSD is detected, try Startup Repair, taking a backup before changing the boot structure.
Steps to follow
- Have a copy of important files and BitLocker key. If the drive disappears or makes noises, do not start this repair.
- In the available login window, Shift+Restart will open recovery; otherwise, choose "Repair your computer" instead of install from the prepared Windows USB.
- Open Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair and select the system you need.
- Wait for completion and test the launch. If the repair fails, write a message; do not delete partitions.
If the problem persists
Disconnect unrelated USB media and select the correct Windows Boot Manager. If the drive is detected but repair fails, a data copy is required before changing partitions or boot records.
