Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
Check RAM (Windows Memory Diagnostic, preferably a longer specialized test), XMP/EXPO stability and disk health. The error does not always mean faulty RAM.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Standard RAM mode
If unstable XMP/EXPO is enabled, try the previous standard memory settings.
Steps to follow
- Use this method only if you have previously changed the settings of the processor, video card or RAM acceleration yourself.
- Open the same manufacturer program or BIOS menu where you made the change; take a picture of the current value.
- Return only your modified frequency, voltage or XMP/EXPO profile to the previous standard mode. Do not select BIOS full reset.
- Save and compare performance without acceleration. If you do not know the settings, leave this change to the master; have BitLocker key before BIOS steps.
Memory diagnostics
Check RAM and save test errors; a short successful test does not rule out all instability.
Steps to follow
- Save open documents; the test will reboot the computer.
- Press the Windows key and R together, type mdsched.exe and press Enter.
- Select reboot and check for problems now. Let the test finish, do not turn off the computer.
- When you return to Windows, note whether any errors are displayed. If so, don't try to change the modules at random - pass the result to the master. A successful short test does not rule out all failures.
Storage check
If there are disk symptoms, first save the files and evaluate its condition.
Steps to follow
- If the drive disappears, cracks or files are wrong when copying, don't do a long test - first a copy or a professional recovery evaluation.
- In a stable Windows Start, right-click > Device Manager > Disk Devices, and write down the exact model of the disk.
- On the official website of its manufacturer, find the health viewer for the model and open only information or health status.
- Write down warnings, do not try erasure, firmware or long tests. Even the good condition of the SMART does not rule out all problems; give the result to the master.
If the problem persists
Check if the error remains with standard RAM frequencies. Memory test error is important, but a successful short test alone does not rule out instability; recurring errors should be investigated with logs.
