Troubleshooting guide
How to fix the problem
On the desktop, hold Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel, or right-click and select View.
Possible solutions
Choose the method that matches your situation. Start with the simplest suitable option and check the result. If the problem is fixed, you do not need to continue with the other methods.
Ctrl and mouse wheel
On the desktop, hold Ctrl and roll the wheel to choose an intermediate icon size.
Steps to follow
- Click on an empty space on the desktop to make it active.
- Hold the Ctrl key and slowly roll the mouse wheel forward or backward.
- When the icons are a comfortable size, release Ctrl; if the application zoom has changed, repeat exactly on the desktop.
Desktop View menu
Right-click on the desktop and select View and suggested icon size.
Steps to follow
- Right-click an empty space on the desktop.
- Hover over View.
- Choose small, medium or large icons and rate the result; it does not resize the entire screen.
If the problem persists
If the whole image is changing and not the icons, check Display > Scale. File browser and desktop icon sizes are controlled separately.
